Smart Trady: The Core Engine plus The AI Cortex, shipped
Smart Trady is a visual AI mentor for trade apprentices. Apprentices send photos or ask questions from any phone browser. Answers stay grounded in each organisation's own standards and curriculum.
Stantons built it by combining two Dev House products. The Core Engine provides authentication, AWS infrastructure, and role-based access. The AI Cortex provides document ingestion, PDF-grounded Q&A, and photo coaching against uploaded standards. We extended both with trades-specific product UI. The product is live at smarttrady.com.
Two products, one platform

Smart Trady serves training centres and construction employers. It is not a one-off custom stack. It is The Core Engine and The AI Cortex composed for trades training, then extended with product UI.
If you need a SaaS platform with document-grounded AI, this is the delivery model. Fixed products first. Product-specific layers on top.
What each product delivered
The Core Engine
Production SaaS foundations: Cognito authentication, AppSync API, role-based access for admins, instructors, and students, plus CloudFront hosting deployed with AWS CDK.
The AI Cortex
Document-grounded AI layer: standards and tutorial ingestion, PDF-grounded Q&A, and photo coaching so apprentices get answers from your documents, not generic web advice.
Product UI
Trades-specific web application for chat, photo submission, and tutorial management. Works in the browser with no app store download.
Need The Core Engine and The AI Cortex for your startup? Smart Trady is proof of the combination.

Why this product combination works
Smart Trady shows what happens when you start with fixed Dev House products instead of scoping from a blank page.
Platform foundations first
The Core Engine handles auth and infrastructure so you can focus on your product, not rebuilding SaaS basics from scratch.
Document-grounded AI built in
The AI Cortex adds standards-based mentoring without bolting on a fragile third-party wrapper.
Full ownership on AWS
Both products deploy to your AWS account with infrastructure as code and full source ownership.
Product layers on top
Trades UI sits on the same foundation without rewriting the platform.
